The summer solstice just passed in the northern hemisphere, which means that half of the world are about to experience the peak of its summer weather. To celebrate the spirit of summer, regardless of where you are, here are seven songs I think are perfect for your summer playlist which you can stream below.

7)  “The Beach” by All Time Low

Who doesn’t like going to the beach with your friends? Isn’t that what summertime is all about? From All Time Low’s So Wrong, It’s Right, “The Beach” is a fun and catchy pop punk song perfect for celebrating summer with your closest friends.

6)  “Kiss Me Again” by We Are The In Crowd

Have you ever had a summer romance? Whether the answer to this question is yes or no, every one knows that feeling of crushing on a cute guy or girl. This song is not only soft musically, but it is also extremely cute with its lyrics.

5)  “Love Drunk” by Boys Like Girls

Boys Like Girls is probably a name that people haven’t heard in awhile. While they are best known for their hit, “The Great Escape,” this title track from their second album Love Drunk couldn’t describe that feeling of summer love and lust any better.

4)  “The Great Escape” by Boys Like Girls

As mentioned above, “The Great Escape” is Boys Like Girls’s most popular song to date. Summer is all about having a good time with the people you care about the most; and one of the best things about summer is the time to be free and escape from reality.

3)  “Always Summer” by Yellowcard

The song title explains itself, but this Yellowcard song makes it impossible to be sad when you listen to this track. Just like the lyrics, it’s important to tell yourself during darker times, “it’s always summer in my heart and in my soul.”

2)  “Backseat Serenade” by All Time Low

A song with innuendo, “Backseat Serenade” describes the passion that comes with intense physical attraction. It’s a fun and catchy song; and who doesn’t have that thought, “Oh god, I’m sick of sleeping alone” at least once in their life?

1)  “With You Around” by Yellowcard

Definitely one of their most radio-friendly tracks from their comeback record, When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes, the song “With You Around” is not only extremely catchy, but it also describes that feeling of wanting to be around the person you really care about. With plenty of pop punk elements both instrumentally and lyrically, it’s impossible to not want to sing along.
