Today the based Sweden synth pop techno band Priest released a new single named “Obey”.

Priest is formed by the mysterious and unknowable Mercury (lead vocal), Salt (Percussion) and Sulfur (Keyboard/Samples). The band includes participations of some well-known musicians such as Simon “Alpha” Söderberg (Ex Ghost member) who produced Priest’s last album “New Flesh” and Mauro “Airghoul” Rubino (Ex Ghost member) who tracked the keyboard on the track “Virus”.

They describe themselves as “A synth band that creates music rooted in the vastness of electronic dreams. The goal of our multifaceted prophecy is to safely guide humanity unto the next evolutionary step – the merging with machines.”

Priest released their first track via Lövely Records on April 17, 2017 named “The Pit”, directed by Dan Svan and produced by Mercury himself. They became well known for bringing to life a new catchy futuristic view of life and sound. But this project has been growing in silence until 2015, as Mercury told on an interview to MAYHEM MUSIC NETWORK: “The seed was planted in 2010. There were some guitar-based demos recorded for Priest back then, but before anything was properly decided other projects took over. In the summer of 2015 the idea had grown and it was time to build the first prototype. It went through many stages before we ended up with the leather/suit-approach.”

“Obey” was released today via Apple Music and Spotify. Give it a listen below:
