Facebook Messenger has become one of the main messaging apps today, making it easier for people to connect with others since basically everyone has a Facebook account (even if they don’t use the app anymore).
Messenger has suffered a series of changes that have made of the service a full featured one, even overwhelming a lot of users (Stories, maybe?). Now, according to VentureBeat, the app is about to get even more confusing and saturated with the introduction of ads on the home screen and even targeted messages.
Facebook started months ago a beta in Thailand and Australia, but now they are ready to expand the testing worldwide. It will supposedly start as a slow rollout, but it’s probable that by the end of this year every user of the service who has the main Messenger app installed on their phones will start seeing the ads.
