13 lyrics artists didn’t have to go as hard as they did on

By July 27, 2020No Comments

The pop-punk scene has never been shy about sharing their feelings, especially through lyrics. Every once and a while we’ll hear a lyric that makes us do a double-take and ask “did they really just say that?” Here’s a list of lyrics that do exactly that:

1. “I wanted out but you held me down and fed me the lies I told to myself.” – “Strangers Again” by Against The Current

2. “Now let’s not get overzealous here. You’ve always been a huge piece of shit. If I could kill you I would but it’s frowned upon in all fifty states. Having said that, burn in hell.” – “Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing” by Set It Off

3. “I’m tired of the weight when you lean on me. If I fell you would never stay to carry me.” – “History” by This Wild Life

4. “I don’t think you wanna see what’s underneath your made up version of me.” – “Rumor Mill” by We Are The In Crowd

5. “Don’t go mistaking your house burning down for the dawn.” – “1933” by Frank Turner

6. “I’m tired of taking the hit for the hell of it. I need some compensation or a compliment.” – “Mad At The World” by Heffron Drive

7. “Generation Y, generation why are we, why are we so casual about these casualties?” – “Massacre, The New American Dream” by Palaye Royale

8. “We tell you it’s okay to die to stop you giving in.” – “The Great Depression” by As It Is

9. “But you think their beliefs make them less than you. And that is a delusion that your sickness has conceived.” – “Savior of Nothing” by Disturbed

10. “You were all that I want but now you made me believe that I can’t depend on anyone after all.” – “Crying Out Loud” by State Champs

11. “I don’t know why I wasted my time with you.” – “You Suck At Love” by Simple Plan

12. “I don’t want to hear about your life. You make me want to eat a bullet.” – “Antisocialist” by Asking Alexandria

13. “Take me home. I’d rather die than be with you.” – “If You Wanted A Song Written About You, All You Had To Do Was Ask” by Mayday Parade
