4 easy ways to support your favorite bands right now

By July 24, 2020No Comments

We are unfortunately living in a world where live music cannot happen right now. Many bands and artist have had to postpone tours or even cancel them all together. Touring and ticket sales are ways that a lot of bands and artists (especially smaller ones) were making their full income. So many people in the music industry are struggling now, but so many people are also searching for a way to help the industry in its time of need. If you are one of those people, here are 4 simple ways you can still keep supporting your favorite bands in tough times.

Buy merch

Although we aren’t able to attend shows right now and buy cool tour related merchandise, most of your favorite bands have online merch stores! Most of the time these stores are linked right on the bands social’s (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram). If you need a new T-shirt or dad hat, go check your favorite bands bio for a store link and see what kind of cool things they have to offer!

Keep listening

Live music may be on a hold but that doesn’t mean music is in general! Keep listening to your favorite albums. Stream them, buy them on iTunes, listen on YouTube, or even buy a hard copy or a vinyl!

Hold on to those postponed concert tickets

We’ve all bought a lot of concert tickets to shows we had planned to attend this year. Because of what is happening in the world, they have cancelled a lot of those shows. However, tons have been postponed to a later date. If you have the means, hold on to those show tickets for the pushed back concert. Most of these shows will eventually happen. Holding on to those tickets will ensure you get to attend the concert once it can safely be held, and will help support your favorite artists as well.

Tell your friends!

Word of mouth is one of the most effective ways to market something. Telling a friend about your favorite bands will lead to them telling their friends and so on. By doing this, you’re creating a buzz. This will lead to more people being aware of your favorite artists, which could then lead to more streams on their tracks/more merch sales/etc.
