It’s no secret that I am a huge Panic! at the Disco fan. Throughout the years, Brendon Urie and the band have done some amazing covers on tour and at different events. I’ve compiled five of those covers below in what I consider to be a list of the five best Panic! covers of all time.
5. “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)” originally by Billy Joel
Hearing this song live on the Death of a Bachelor Tour was so much fun. Billy Joel is obviously a very different artist than Panic! at the Disco, but Panic! was able to blend their styles into such an amazing performance. I also love any time when we get to see Brendon play the piano, just so he can remind of us of how extremely talented he is.
4. “Semi-Charmed Life” originally by Third Eye Blind
This has to be one of the most chaotic Panic! performances of all time, but that’s what makes it so great. They’re having so much fun with it, even when it goes completely off the rails and Brendon forgets the words and has a complete giggle fit. “Semi-Charmed Life” is a classic, but this insane performance elevates it.
3. “DuckTales Theme Song”
Jimmy Fallon knows how to use Brendon Urie to the full extent. Who else could orchestrate a Brendon Urie version of the DuckTales theme song? And it’s shockingly good? In under two minutes, Brendon shows that he is a performer through and through. I would seriously add this song to all my Spotify playlists if I could.
2. “Dream On” originally by Aerosmith
If there was ever a cover to show off Brendon Urie’s vocal range, “Dream On” is surely it. Steven Tyler is known for his crazy high notes and vocal performances in Aerosmith and Brendon shows that he can hang with the rock legend. Honestly, I would be stoked if Panic! did an entire album of Aerosmith covers. I think it would be sick.
1. “Under Pressure” originally by Queen and David Bowie
Forget “Bohemian Rhapsody” because “Under Pressure” is the Queen cover that we need in this world. They used “at-home” instruments and it turned out this amazing. It’s insane. Imagine what Panic! could do with a full band at their disposal. At this point, I think we should also get a full album of Panic! covering Queen. He nails the vocals every time.
