A Day to Remember’s homecoming pop-up shop and museum were unforgettable

By November 30, 2019No Comments

On Monday, the A Day to Remember pop-up merch shop and museum opened at 5pm. The homecoming pre-party with the entire band was next door at Will’s Pub at 9pm. Eager fans were able to meet and have a drink with members of the band throughout the night. The shop and museum reopened on Tuesday until 7pm, then closed indefinitely.

Museum

The pop-up shop included an A Day to Remember museum. It displayed original artwork sketches, original handwritten lyrics, Alex Shelnutt’s “Nutt” drumset, Neil’s first guitar, and Josh’s first guitar. Old set pieces from previous tours, including the enormous inflatable heads the band used on Warped Tour in 2011, were also on display.

The most notable object displayed was the band’s original tour van. This van was used on various tours from 2003-2008 and is the van mentioned in their song “I Remember.” The boys often slept in this van while on the road because they could not afford buses or hotels.

Pop-Up Merch

Blowing money on merch seems to be my specialty, especially when it comes to the sick limited edition items offered at ADTR’s pop-up. There were 29 items for sale, including shirts, hoodies, jerseys, socks, hats, tumblers, shot glasses, koozies, and bandanas. The drawstring merch set, however, was arguably the best deal at the shop. For $30, fans could buy an ADTR drawstring bag that included a set of branded drumsticks and a custom guitar pick set for every other member of the band.

Talk about dope memorabilia!

Some other popular items include:

  • “Eagle Bomber Jacket”—NASA-inspired windbreaker with hundreds of photos of ADTR on the inside
  • “Fuck You From Florida Koozie”— pretty self-explanatory
  • “You’re Welcome Blanket”— a massive ADTR blanket with their classic symbol in the middle and You’re Welcome etched at the bottom

It is safe to say that the pop-up shop took all my money, but it was worth every penny. Check out the highlights of the shop on ADTR’s Instagram!
