“Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night” is unlike any album I’ve had the pleasure of listening to.
For all Bleachers fans alike, new music is always so highly anticipated. The years of waiting were, in short, extremely difficult – but once you take a listen to this new outstanding drop, you see how worth the wait it was.
“Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night” is unlike any album I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. To me, it follows well in the steps of Bleachers and their past releases. The indie pop sound really takes over, touching on a variety of topics from relationships, success, pain, and maturity. I would say this album is not as ‘dark’ topic wise as past releases frontman Jack Antonoff has given us, but the lyrics give us a sense reflection – almost like he is on the road to finding what he has been looking for.
They hit the topics of loneliness, pain, and loss.
Specific tracks that really stand out to me would have to be How Dare You Want More as well as Stop Making This Hurt. Both of these particular songs have a definite pop-rock twist that almost makes you want to immediately get up and dance. Although true, they hit the topics of loneliness, pain, and loss. It’s an amazing juxtaposition in my eyes, and that’s something that is often hard to get in music.
As for the rest of the tracks, I don’t want to give too much away! It’s almost hard to give everything a descriptor because of the uniqueness, originality, and endless emotions. That being said, I am encouraging you to give this album a listen all the way through as soon as possible! No shuffles, no skips, just both headphones in as loud as they can go – it’s something you need to do right now.
What I’ve said above truly doesn’t touch base on what you’ll hear, feel, or experience in “Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night” Go ahead and take a listen for yourself on Spotify right above – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
