blink-182 has exciting news for their fans! They have officially announced the release date for their much-anticipated new album, One More Time… This will be the first album in which the classic line-up, featuring vocalist and bassist Mark Hoppus, guitarist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker, join forces since the release of Neighborhoods back in 2011. Following the success of their single “Edging” last year, the band is ready to drop their latest musical masterpiece.
In order to share the exciting news, blink-182 released a trailer featuring snippets from their upcoming interview with Zane Lowe from Apple Music. This trailer also included archival footage from the band’s extensive career, stirring up nostalgia among their dedicated fanbase. The teaser video also showcased snippets of three new album tracks: “Anthem Part 3”, “You Don’t Know What You’ve Got”, and the eponymous track which is to be released on Thursday, September 21, “One More Time”.
During the trailer, the band members discuss Mark Hoppus’ battle with lymphoma cancer and how it inspired Tom DeLonge to reunite with the band. DeLonge shared, “I remember telling my wife, ‘I don’t think I’m ever going to play music again, I don’t think I’m ever gonna tour again.’ Until Mark told me he was sick, and then I was like, that’s the only thing I wanted to do.” Their strong bond and shared passion for music brought them back together.”
One More Time… is scheduled to be released on October 20th through Colombia Records. Fans can already pre-order and pre-save the album to ensure they don’t miss out on this highly-anticipated release.
The album was recorded during their successful reunion tour and features a total of 17 songs. Interestingly, all of the tracks on the album were produced by drummer Travis Barker. Emphasizing the band’s growth and unity, a press release describes the album as capturing blink-182 at the peak of their artistic prowess, exploring themes of tragedy, triumph, and above all, brotherhood.
