Pop-punk veterans blink-182 have achieved a major milestone with their hit song “One More Time,” tying the record for the longest reign at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. As of the March 2-dated survey, the track spends its 20th week atop the chart, equaling the mark set by Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” in 2017.
“One More Time” has dominated the Alternative Airplay chart since its initial climb to No. 1 in October 2023. This streak surpasses the previous record of 18 weeks held by both Muse’s “Madness” and Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender.”
This achievement comes over 25 years after blink-182 first entered the Alternative Airplay chart with “Dammit” in 1997. The band has since built a strong track record, scoring 16 Top-10 hits, including five No. 1s.
“One More Time” wasn’t an immediate chart-topper. It debuted at No. 29 in September 2023 before steadily climbing the ranks. The song has faced competition from Green Day’s “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and Cannons’ “Loving You,” but it has maintained its stronghold at the top.
While primarily dominating the Alternative charts, “One More Time” has also found success on other radio formats. It reached No. 13 on Adult Pop Airplay, marking the band’s highest rank in this category, and even entered the Adult Contemporary chart at No. 27.
The song serves as the title track and second single from blink-182’s ninth studio album, released in 2023. The album itself debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and has sold 247,000 equivalent album units to date.
With “One More Time,” blink-182 proves their staying power and ability to connect with audiences across generations. Their record-tying run on the Alternative Airplay chart only solidifies their position as pop-punk legends.
