Following her previous single “People That I Love Leave”, which marked her nostalgic return to her pop-punk roots, Cassadee Pope has released a new emotionally charged track called “Almost There” and the song’s accompanying music video.
In discussing the meaning behind the song, Pope shares her perspective on society’s tendency to stigmatize the expression of desires, particularly for women stating, “I think a lot of us are taught from an early age that indulging our desires is shameful and not ladylike. It was only when I started to shed that shame and embrace my sensual nature that I began feeling like myself. For this song, I wanted to let people see a side of me they haven’t seen before and validate them in their own desires.”

Earlier this year, we caught up with Cassadee to talk about the journey through her career, from forming Hey Monday to winning Season 3 of The Voice and transitioning back into the pop-punk world with her latest single at that time, “People That I Love Leave.” The interview is a candid and insightful look into her career and personal life and is one that any fan of Cassadee’s would love to watch.
