Colosseums is a four-piece post-metalcore band from Birmingham, UK and All Punked Up got a chance to talk to them about their new song, ‘Divided’, as well as the band’s influences and everything in between.
Be sure to check them out on Instagram and Twitter!
For newcomers, how would you best describe your sound?
As a collective, we all have different influences we bring to the table, we cross over a lot of genres and elements. We love being heavy but we also love the whole RnB/Pop vibe too!
You’ve just put out a new track, ‘Divided’ – how are you guys feeling?
The response we’ve had has been incredible! We are so happy with it, and we’re glad that everyone else is too, so we’re feeling great about the entire release.
What’s the story behind ‘Divided’?
‘Divided’ is about being silently torn apart by a relationship, whether it’s within a family, or a loving relationship etc. Some people have the natural instinct to suffer in silence rather than confronting what the actual issues are, that are turning things sour.
Who are your main inspirations in the scene?
We have so many inspirational artists we look up to, the ones that come to mind for us are bands like, Issues and Architects, but we also take inspiration from other artists like Kehlani, Blackbear and Polyphia. They are all a massive influence on our sound.
What else is in the pipeline for Colosseums this year?
We have some more releases planned, one of them won’t be what people expect from us, but we are so excited about it! I think you can expect to see more from us around the summer time this year.
