Cory Wells has released his new record, The Way We Are, via Pure Noise Records.
The record is filled to the brim with unique acoustic tracks, each song telling a different story from the last.
The album opens on a dramatic moment with “Distant” the main focus of the track being Wells’ strong and gritty vocals. The tranquil melody sets the tone for what is to come on this record.
Wells stresses his vocals throughout the album creating an ear-catching effect. “Walk Away” showcases Wells’ talent in creating unique melodies with the guitar, the track also includes hints of more of a fuller band moment throughout.
“Wild Fire” is a song that adds more spark to this serene album. The track highlights Wells’ ability to create a new dynamic within this record to stray away from being repetitive.
The album ends on “Cement,” a track that introduces itself with soft vocals and lyrics that bring a feeling of familiarity uniting listeners with Wells’ music. This track carries on a stagnant presences making it the perfect way to end the record.
