This week, When We Were Young Fest announced their 2024 emo lineup. This time it was with an emphasis on bands playing their respective iconic album in full. However, social media noticed there was one glaring issue with the lineup: it heavily lacked a female presence. With social media ablaze, When We Were Young Fest suddenly entered damage control and started announcing new bands to the lineup… and those new bands all happened to be female-fronted groups. So what say you? Do you think When We Were Young Fest messed up and are now trying to save face? This episode has us debating these exact questions.
Elsewhere in the episode, we discuss Charlotte Sands’ new song “pity”, Green Day having a good week, and Spotify’s new royalty payment policy that probably isn’t as bad as most initially thought.
As always, thanks for listening!
