Emo Nite LA’s incredible journey to success

By May 14, 2022No Comments

Whether you’re an elder emo or fresh-out-of-high-school emo, at one point or another you’ve heard of Emo Nite LA. Maybe you’ve been to one of their bomb-ass club parties. Maybe you’ve seen them party at huge festivals like Coachella. Or maybe you just follow them on social media because you are in fact “sad as f*ck.”

Emo Nite LA was founded by Morgan Freed and T.J Peracca when they hosted their first party at an East L.A dive bar in December 2014. The duo shared an intense passion for the nostalgia of pop-punk music and wanted to find others to share that love with. Quickly, the Emo Nite boys found themselves with double the number of patrons the bar can handle. Even legends like Mark Hoppus were eager to show up to a bar blaring pop-punk music all night.

Undoubtedly, the spontaneous start of these emo parties quickly united the emo community in a way that it had never been united before. Rather than going to bars and listening to the same EDM or pop songs, people could join Morgan and T.J by jamming out to scene music all night.

Emo Nite LA turned into a touring party that visits over 30 cities a year. Famous artists come in as guest DJs or host acoustic sets. Plus, Emo Nite LA hosted things like the afterparty for Warped Tour’s 25th Anniversary shows in 2019.

More recently, though, Emo Nite has pushed the boundaries of how to further unite the emo community. Last year, Emo Nite hosted a weekend-long party in Vegas. This trip included a hotel, ticket, and bar package bundle. Fans came from all around the country to take over Vegas with their Converse and Vans. The vacation included several famous guests and even an emo Vegas wedding!

Since their success with the Vegas Vacation, Emo Nite quickly hit the ground running on planning another weekend-long, pop-punk invasion vacation. This time, the crew is headed to New Orleans!
