happydaze is back with their first track of 2023 called “Cool Blue”. Be sure to check out the video below.
For the record, happydaze is one band that I regretfully left off of my Artist to Watch for in 2023 list as I’ve loved everything they’ve released since I first came across them back in 2021 (we talked about a couple of their songs here and then here). This is a band that, based on their music alone, deserves to be all over alternative radio, as well as alternative playlists on every streaming platform. There aren’t many bands out there that can create their very own unique sound of rock and then deliver repeatedly for every track, but happydaze sure does.
About the new track, happydaze says: “‘Cool Blue’ is the acceptance and sadness felt when someone important to you can’t be in your life anymore, whether it’s a partner, family or friend. The track speaks to the comfort in it being the right decision, a conversation with someone you were close to, honing in on the push and pull and inner struggle of knowing you’re not right for each other. “Cool Blue” is about living too fast, knowing you are going to struggle without them, but accepting it’s what you have to do.”
