In a year of turmoil, Juliet Simms is finding herself and her sound. The bluesy rock singer/songwriter has returned with her new EP Descent, out now on Sumerian Records. Descent is a sign of things yet to come for Simms, who signed to Sumerian Records last year with singles “Bad Love” and “100 Little Deaths.” She shares:
“This EP was an opportunity for me to bridge the gap between who I used to be and what I have become. Sonically it skews towards a brighter sound than the one I am moving towards but I think it’s a great mix of 80’s influence with modern pop rock production and lyrically I was able to explore my emotions in a time of significant turmoil and uncertainty.”
