Your new favorite alt-pop star has just dropped the music video to her single “Loser” and it is everything we could have ever hoped for!
The song dropped in the early hour of the morning and is now being followed by this stellar and immersive video. Kailee Morgue leans into her strengths and love for playful, yet enticing imagery to show her audience an authentic version of herself. The video and the track are both an exploration of self and identity.
“‘Loser’ was inspired by my dad calling all my boyfriends in high-school losers and lowlifes,” says Morgue. “It used to feel like the worst insult coming from him and I was so scared of doing nothing with my life or failing at music. I wrote this song as kind of a well f*ck it, I’m a loser then.”
The music video shows Morgue across a variety of settings including singing in a car to singing on a stage. It’s shot with striking and dynamic movement that helps guide fans toward a feeling of building freedom.
She may not shy away from the word, but Morgue really is anything but a loser. Arguably, she’s the next big thing in alternative music.
