Last Friday (27th March), UK band Kill The Ideal put out a new single called “Let’s Get Excited”. 100% of the profits will be donated to the UK’s NHS – a cause close to the band’s heart, especially singer, Ash Wilson.
The Kill The Ideal singer currently works on the front line for the NHS as a staff nurse, treating Covid-19 patients on a daily basis.
Following the news of the band giving all proceeds to the NHS, to help fight the virus, Ash Wilson has since been interviewed on BBC News and he said, “All of the proceeds are going direct to the NHS, we just feel that everyone’s working so hard, that we just want to do our bit for them looking out for the country.”
“Let’s Get Excited” is the first single off the band’s EP, which is set to be released in autumn 2020. The lyrics behind the EP have a strong anti-bullying message, an emotive subject for Ash Wilson, who has experienced bullying first hand, throughout his life. Other relatable themes are touched on too, with songs about how the current media encourages bullying, creating a lack of humanity and empathy for one another.
Check out Ash Wilson talking on Instagram about the band’s plan to donate to the NHS.
Kill The Ideal have shared stages with Doll Skin, Liberty Lies, Holding Absence and Crazytown in the past. They are also artist ambassadors with Fender, Focusrite, Ernie Ball and Evans.
