Cole Crutchfield, guitarist of hardcore punk band Knocked Loose, has announced a new side project, Eastwood. The band’s debut album It Never Gets Easy will be released on September 18th via Pure Noise Records. Preorders for the album are available here.
Two songs from the upcoming album, “False Start” and “Two Story Window,” are out now. You can check out the music video for “False Start” below!
Eastwood is a project that originated back in 2016, and the group has released two EPs before, but It Never Gets Easy is the first time that Crutchfield is fully pleased with what the band is putting out.
“This is the first thing we’ve released that I’ve been proud to release,” Crutchfield admits. “I also feel way more connected to these songs than anything else I’ve ever made. It’s the most important project I’ve ever done.”
Not only does It Never Gets Easy mark a new beginning for Eastwood, but it marks a new beginning of sorts for Crutchfield himself. Crutchfield proves that he has a diverse range of influences and talents that go beyond what people might think with Eastwood.
“I think that people might be caught off-guard by this album, and I hope they are, because I want to smash that cliché that if you’re into death metal or hardcore you can’t play or listen to other kinds of music.
