On May 8th, the Nightmares & Daydreams tour made its way to Chicago, Illinois. With headliners Against The Current and Trophy Eyes with Yours Truly to perform alongside them, this show was truly a pop-punk dream. Taking place at one of Chicago’s best, Bottom Lounge, you could tell every single fan in attendance was extremely happy and grateful to be there. For a Monday night, the room was packed wall to wall and filled with unmatched energy. This show had so much genuine excitement, dancing, singing, and fun.
It was nice to see people showing up
Off the bat with Yours Truly taking the stage, everyone was enamored with the performance. Every person in the room was having a killer time, and you could tell the reciprocation was heartfelt coming from the band too. It’s unfortunately not often you see as many people come for the openers as there should be, so it was nice to see people showing up, and not just physically.
Trophy Eyes took the stage next. It has been several years since they were able to make their way back to the states, and their returning performance in Chicago is one I am happy I did not miss. The band was just so authentic. Keeping it real, vocalizing their gratefulness for an awesome turnout for the openers on a weekday. High energy, happiness, and overall immaculate vibes came from both the band and the audience. It was super refreshing to see the room be so lively, including some rowdiness and crowd surfing as well. I personally love Trophy Eyes as a band and as people, and this set made me extremely happy.
The performance from Against The Current start to finish illuminated excitement, liveliness, animation, and power
Last but certainly not least – an outstanding set from Against The Current. Before the band even took the stage you could feel the anticipation radiating from everyone in the room. With an outstanding stage setup of ribbons and red, the band stepped out and the room was filled with excitement. The performance from Against The Current start to finish illuminated excitement, liveliness, animation, and power. With non-stop movement and interaction I was truly engulfed, as I could tell the rest of the people in attendance were too. This was my first time photographing Against The Current, and with how unbelievable of a band they are live, all I was left wondering is when they would be back.
The Nightmare & Daydreams tour was FAR more of a Daydream
The Nightmare & Daydreams tour was FAR more of a Daydream. I hope I was able to capture just how great of a gig all the bands put on with my photos. I also hope this may inspire you to catch a show on this tour at one of the upcoming dates. Be sure to check out the photos below and check to see if this tour is coming to your city. Believe me, you won’t want to miss it!
