The Back For The Attack Tour!

You truly could not ask for a better lineup than this! The Back For The Attack Tour made its way to House of Blues Chicago the other week featuring Don’t Panic, The Aquabats!, Less Than Jake, and Bowling For Soup.

At this gig, you got a little bit of every type of entertainment you could possibly ask for. This included a little bit of ska, a little bit of comedy, flying pizza through the air, Thomas Nicholas, and most importantly – Punk Rock 101!

The room was filled with the audience taking in every song

The night opened with Don’t Panic, and a better band could not have been picked to build up the energy for this show. Though the band was put on stage at 5:15, extremely early for a gig, the room was filled with the audience taking in every song played.

Moving on to The Aquabats!, the stage was jam packed with superheros! In their classic getups, the bands ska-sounding vibes were truly outstanding, and the interaction with the audience was evident. Flying inflatable blow-ups soared through the air of many different kinds including beach balls, pizza slices, and sharks.

Less Than Jake took the stage next, and again, the room was filled with ska! The audience immediately joined in on the fun, jamming out to every song played one after the other. One thing that stood out to me specifically about Less Than Jake was their interaction with the photographers. For me specifically, I got a lot of eye contact, silly faces, pointing, and smiles. It really makes a show for me being behind the lens when the band puts in the same energy as I.

A Bowling For Soup / American Pie collab

Last but not least, Bowling For Soup closed the night. High School Never Ends, Almost, and the Phineas and Ferb theme song were given to us. We even got a mid set compilation of jokes from each member. The night ended with 1985 – well… Almost. For one last surprise, the Chicago crowd got to hear the 1985 parody 1999. Not only this, but Thomas Nicholas himself joined the band on stage. A Bowling For Soup / American Pie collab is all we could ever want!

This show was truly one for the books. Check out the photo series below, and make sure to see if this tours next run is coming near you!
