Punk rock helped aid an anti-communist movement in Yugoslavia

Way back in the 1970’s when early punk rock was igniting the airwaves in the United States, it’s powerful rebellious origin was able to help aid an anti-communist movement in Yugoslavia, according to Miljenko Jergovich of the New York Times.

According to Jergovich’s article, punk rock’s infamous rebellion was able to seep its way into the heart of Yugoslavia, infectiously allowing the countries’ people to join in rebellion in the only way they could; through music.

Pretty nifty how powerful music can be!
