Grayscale is off and running on their first-ever headlining tour. The Nella Vita album dropped on Friday and by showtime Saturday, fans were ready to jam to the new songs.
The Soundbar is a small venue in downtown Orlando. Rich People, Bearings, and Belmont warmed up the show. All three bands did a fantastic job; however, Belmont’s set really got the crowd going. People constantly jumped up on stage and dove off into the sea of people. Several mosh pits formed. Dozens of crowd surfers moved about. The room was hot, humid, and sweaty before Grayscale even walked out there.
After opening up with the upbeat “In Violet” single released several months ago, blue lights scanned the crowd as the band played their latest single “Baby Blue.” Collin Walsh, front-man of Grayscale, spoke out to the crowd, “You guys are our guinea pigs. Let’s see how fast our fans can learn song lyrics!” The band then played several songs off the new album.
The crowd sang every line while they danced about and the band was blown away by the energy in the room. They could not believe that their fans already knew the lyrics to the entire Nella Vita album. Covered in sweat and out of breath, the Grayscale boys continued to play their hearts out.
The band didn’t seem to miss a beat. It was clear that they were more than prepared to perform the new songs live. They played classic Grayscale bops toward the end, including “Forever Yours” and “Atlantic.” The band has grown a lot since I saw them open for State Champs in March.
After the show, members from all four bands were walking around, hanging with fans, and taking pictures. I was lucky enough to snap pictures with Bearings and Belmont, as well as Grayscale’s drummer Nick Veno.
Without a doubt, Grayscale is the next big thing in the pop-punk scene and seeing them on their Nella Vita tour is a must. To find a show near you, visit their official website.
