“decide to be happy” is everything we could want out of a new MisterWives song. The band has once again given us an adorable, feel good song with a DIY music video to accompany it. Although this song and video may have this uplifting vibe, the lyrics give you a look into the pain of a breakup but deciding to grow with the heartbreak and choosing to be happy.
I get a good sense of the classic MisterWives aesthetic while listening to this song and watching the video. The sound is filled with the fun, pop-rock tones with accompanying trumpets to overlay. As for the video – it is filled with humour, flowers, and warm tones. They both beautifully compliment each other. You get a hint of experimentation for a new sound that can do nothing but spark our curiosity. Will this continue throughout their new album “SUPERBLOOM” out July 24th?
