Sorry Ghost drops debut record “The Morning After”— album review

By April 30, 2020No Comments

Sorry Ghost dropped their debut album The Morning After via Helpless Records. You can check out their last single right here on All Punked Up!

Founded in 2018 deep in the swampy bayous of Louisiana, Sorry Ghost manifests as a concoction of alternative rock with a healthy dose of pop-punk. The eclectic three-piece features Daniel Anton on vocals and bass, Matthew Polito on vocals and guitar, and Tyler Hernandez on drums. Known for their eccentric live show and ear-hook melodies, the power trio has been causing a buzz in the scene, and you can be certain that they will leave you entertained.

The band shares that this record encompasses a myriad of emotions that will be sure to both tug at your heart strings and leave you humming melodies all day long. Between Daniel’s poetic lyricism in “Right at the Start,” Matt’s skillful guitar work in “New Hampshire,” and Tyler’s energetic percussion in “Nosedive,” Sorry Ghost is bound to captivate your mind, soul, and body. Somehow the songs we wrote in our bedrooms while hanging out actually came together and formed something we’re incredibly proud of as a band. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Our Thoughts of The Morning After.

This alternative rock masterpiece encompasses all aspects of the scene we enjoy. They combine pop-punk vibes with trash-pop and alternative to create a rockin’ masterpiece. Each song replicates everything you would desire in a modern rock album. “Nosedive” gives me All-American Rejects feels. “New Hampshire” gives me Taking Back Sunday vibes and makes me want to jump in a pit! “Condescending” matches Grayscale and Broadside vibes. “Morning Glory” gives me throwback Blink-182 feels. The record as a whole is just everything you could ever ask for in a pop-punk record. What a strong debut album!

Sorry Ghost has mastered the sounds of the best artists in the scene while putting their own modern twist to it. We look forward to their future releases!
