Hey Immerse, last time we caught up, lockdown (in the UK) was coming to an end, how are you guys doing?
We are all glad to be getting back to work and being able to practice again. Our new headline set is sounding epic! We’ve really been focusing on creating the most exciting live show possible. You don’t want to miss out on our intimate tour in January so make sure you grab a ticket!
We last caught up prior to your release of “Here’s Hoping” – what was the response like to the track?
It went down really well! We got a lot of coverage on Kerrang Radio (Alex Baker) and Rocksound magazine which was great for us. It’s a lot more poppy and completely different to the single we released beforehand (23/19) so we’re keeping people on their toes.
You dropped your new single, “Southbound” today – what’s the inspiration behind it and did you work on it during lockdown?
“Southbound” reflects on being away from loved ones on tour. The song expresses the conflict of the highs of doing what we love and exploring new places, to missing our families and friends back home. The visual was created by Ben using shots from his trip to LA (which we would love to tour one day!). It’s the most ‘pop punk’ we’ve gone with a song and the summer vibe makes it the perfect time to release. We wrote and recorded the track pre-lockdown.
Can you describe “Southbound” in three words or a phrase?
Catchy Summer Anthem
Do you have a specific ritual when you’re writing new music?
Not really. I usually have an idea that I get down as soon as possible and will keep revisiting it until a full song is formed. Archie will work on vocals and we’ll demo them at my place. I’ll send a basic demo to the lads and everyone pitches in their ideas and we jam it in a practice room.
If the pandemic disappeared and you had the chance to tour with your favourite bands, who would they be and why?
We’d love to tour with a range of bands from Neck Deep to Northlane. I believe we’d be a great support for any band as we have so much energy and always get the crowd moving!
Do you have anything else to say to our readers?
We hope you are all doing well! For all new updates from the band, follow us on Facebook/Instagram/Spotify to get all our new music and see what each of us are listening to at the moment.
