Aside from selling standard band merchandise such as band tees, Spotify has added another platform. Makeup. Makeup artist Pat McGrath, known for her beauty line Pat McGrath Labs, is partnering with singer Maggie Lindemann to release a makeup collection. The collaboration, called “So Obsessed,” will be sold through Lindemann’s artist page.
The collection will be released with Maggie’s new single “Obsessed” on November 17, 2017. It will include lipsticks which will sell for about $21 as well as other products such as face pallets that will retail for approximately $125.
This is similar to when Spotify allowed artists to sell merchandise through their pages in 2014. It makes Spotify more appealing to other artists so they can make money outside just streaming.
