You released your latest single, “State Of Mind” today – congratulations!  How are you guys feeling?

Great! We are excited to have another release under our belts, and looking forward to releasing more music over the next few months.

You worked with Mason Musso of Metro Station on the track, how did that come about?

Isaiah met Mason over a decade ago when they wrote together on a track for Mason’s younger brother Mitchel. They recently connected again and decided to work together on multiple projects. Mason met Rob through Isaiah while working on music. When Stileto was formed, we had a list of people we would love to collaborate with, and Mason is one of those people.

What’s the story behind “State Of Mind”?

Rob is heavily influenced by the early 2000’s era emo / metal / pop rock scene, and has been trying to integrate this style in a modern, electronic music context. After a bit of inspiration, the “State Of Mind” instrumental was created and soon after taken to long time friend and colleague, Joey Kurbanov for songwriting. Mason loved the song, and after continued writing / input from everyone involved, we all decided to cut the record.

You’ve said that the single is open to the interpretation of the listeners, what does the song mean to you personally?

Stileto: Relationships often become an endless, addictive cycle of emotional enslavement leading to self-destruction on both sides. “State Of Mind” reveals how bad habits lead to bad outcomes, and how both parties in a relationship suffer from codependency.

Mason: For me this song is about the pain one has to deal with after a bad relationship that was built on lies. Sometimes a relationship can be so bad that it just totally messes with your head to the point where you don’t even feel like yourself anymore or know what part of the relationship was real because of all the lying.

Can we expect to see another Stileto and Mason Musso collaboration in the future?

Stileto: Absolutely! Mason is fam!

Mason: Absolutely! I’ve been friends with the Stileto guys for a long time so we will definitely do more stuff in the future.

Any plans for an album/EP on the horizon?

For sure! We plan on releasing a few more singles and an EP soon after, lots of dope music and collaborations in the future.
