“SummerStage Anywhere” digital series to drop tomorrow, titled “The People Speak”

By June 11, 2020No Comments

SummerStage is an event put on by the Capital One City Parks Foundation, and usually takes place in multiple parks across New York.

However, because of COVID-19, New York’s largest free outdoor performing arts festival could not come to fruition. Instead of cancelling it entirely, they decided to move it online.

SummerStage Anywhere is set to drop tomorrow on their YouTube channel, which you can find by clicking here.

Additionally, the concert series has collaborated with VOICES, a nonprofit arts, education and social justice organization.

VOICES aims to bring history to life with telling stories of what made America the place it is today. With all that is going on in our country surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement, it is crucial that people band together and share stories, and continue to use their voice to bring justice to people of color. So, in addition to the music and the acting, there will be poetry and readings from famous black activists and authors, such as Malcom X and Maya Angelou.

These pressing matters are what take priority in America at this time. Continue to educate yourself, and learn from and listen to one another. Check out the SummerStage video when it drops tomorrow, June 12th, at 7 P.M ET.
