The Band CAMINO released their new EP tryhard on Friday, and we. need. to. talk. about. it.
First of all, do you know The Band CAMINO? If you do, bless your soul. If not, let me be the first to tell you: The Band CAMINO is the best band you’ve never heard of. You might not know them now, but you will.
So for those of you who are unaware, The Band CAMINO is a four-piece alternative/indie rock band from Memphis Tennessee. The group recently signed to Elektra Records for their latest release. They’ve sold out multiple shows on their upcoming tour, and they’re just getting started.
Their new EP tryhard just dropped, and I have been waiting for this masterpiece for what seems like forever. It is so good. I repeat, IT IS SO GOOD.
From the singles “Daphne Blue” and “See Through” to new songs “Hush Hush” and “Break Me,” there is not a bad song on this EP. I cannot stress how flawless it is.
A standout of the record for me is track seven, “Farsighted,” written by singer/keyboardist Jeffery Jordan and COIN frontman Chase Lawrence. Between the lyrics and Jordan’s vocals, this earworm is bound to find its place on one of your playlists.
Another notable track is the re-released “What I Want.” This song originally appeared on the 2017 EP Heaven. This new version is a little bit more polished with a little bit better vocals, but it keeps the classic CAMINO sound.
What is most impressive about this new EP is the production. It’s truly flawless. I’ve been following The Band CAMINO for a few years now, and they are nothing if not consistent. They’re constantly working and trying to make each song its best, and it really shows on this new EP.
The production levels are just crazy elevated from their previous releases, and it goes to show how dedicated they are to making good music.
I’m so proud of how far the group has come so far, and I cannot wait to see what they do next.
