After months of turmoil on the platform, the nu-metal band Trapt has finally been suspended from Twitter. The suspension comes after vocalist Chris Taylor Brown went on a tirade defending statutory rape between teenage boys and adult women. Loudwire reported that a tweet from the Ill Tempered Podcast launched Brown’s tirade.

Brown tweeted via the band’s official Twitter account saying that “A 15-year male and a 25-year-old female is not pedophilia, you fucking moron. I wouldn’t care if a 15-year-old boy banged his 25-year-old teacher. That’s it…”. Brown doubled down and defended the tweet for several more posts, which have since been taken down but screen caped by Twitter users.

Trapt was also suspended from Facebook and Instagram last month for violating the platform’s policy on hate speech after Brown made posts publically supporting the far-right group Proud Boys.
