Twitch offers users new rights-cleared music on platform

By October 1, 2020No Comments

For those who use Twitch and have had your videos taken down due to copyright issues, you are in luck!  Twitch is giving users a new way to avoid copyright takedowns when using music in their livestreams, without deals with the major record labels.

On September 30th, Soundtrack by Twitch beta was released. Soundtrack by Twitch is an in-platform music streaming service that is packed with more than 1 million rights of cleared songs by independent artists for Twitch streamers to use as background music in their livestreams, legally and free of charge.

Twitch began rolling out the beta  to select creators with a wide release for all users planned down the line. In the meantime, creators can join the waitlist here.

What are your thoughts about Twitch adding this new streaming option for music?
