My Chemical Romance’s ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’ turns 15

By June 8, 2019No Comments

Let’s face it, we’re Not Okay this much time has passed.

15 years ago, My Chemical Romance released their second studio album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, which featured tracks such as “Helena”, “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”, and “The Ghost Of You”.

As the jumpstarting album, this record practically launched this band into success with Reprise Records. The dark, edgy, melancholy phenomena this album culminated reached into the ears of listeners everywhere, reaching new wavelengths and tugging on the heart-strings of fans. MCR started a change in the scene and reinvented the trend of wearing black clothing and eye-liner a thing again. Or, maybe just for your middle-school-self. We won’t judge.

MCR gifted fans incredible guitar riffs, lyrics that sent shockwaves through teenagers and households alike, and a new wave of emo/punk rock music that would change a generations identity.

We thank you, MCR, for giving us an album that was just a glimpse into what you’d create in the future. You certainly raised the bar and exceeded expectations with whatever you tried to accomplish.

Now, since it’s been 15 years, reunion tour?
